The Case for the Only Child
Susan Newman, Ph.D.
When: Wednesday, March 28, 2012
7pm: Dessert Reception; 7:30pm: Lecture
Where: Charles River School, Dover, MA. Foster Hall
Long-held negative stereotypes about only children make parents wonder if their child is at a disadvantage when compared to those who grow up with siblings. Social psychologist and best-selling author Dr. Susan Newman debunks these myths and argues instead for the advantages of being one and done. Join us for a thought-provoking presentation, based on Dr. Newman’s recent book The Case for the Only Child, that combines research with real-life stories to offer a new and welcome perspective on raising only children.
Free for Parent Talk members, $20 for non-members who pre-pay online (online registration closes one day before the lecture); $25 at the door. No refunds, non-transferable.
Books will be available for sale at the event, courtesy of Wellesley Books. The author will be happy to personalize them, too.
